Abraham Lincoln is the man that led our nation through the civil war. Despite some very real emotional issues, he was able to navigate such amazingly complex situations. His intelligence shines through in his letters, yet he is never pretentious or wordy or preachy. He explains his thinking, makes his commands and negotiates with his critics with down to earth wisdom and elegance.
