Legends of Nigerian Music- Legends of Nigerian Music

Beschrijving

From time immemorial, music has played and continues to play a major role in entertainment as well as in human existence and interaction. There is no occasion, gathering, or engagement worth its salt that relegates music to the background. Music, irrespective of who or where it is being rendered, has a universal language and appeal; hence, there is no occasion or gathering where music is not played, even at the Olympics, the World Cup, etc.
This book is about those who gave shape and meaning to music in Nigeria-they are the legends (living or dead) of Nigerian music. They either created, introduced, or fine-tuned the different genres of music in Nigeria to meet the needs of both local and international audiences. Their brands have not only gone the length and breadth of Nigeria but across the world.
In this Volume, you will read about some legends in the genres of Juju, Bolojo, Ewi, Gospel, Waka, and Asiko. If you are an ardent follower of music, the history, and the people behind it, this book is a must-read for you and an essential for your music library.
